Ice Cream Specials at the French Pavilion Epcot.

The French showcase at Epcot, Walt Disney World Orlando, has recently had a renovation and opened L'Artisan des Glaces, here they sell 10 flavours of ice cream, along with a selection of mouth watering sorbets for a welcome cooling down on a hot Florida day in the Disney theme parks. There is an added attraction in that a shot of liquor can be added to adult ice creams. Outdoor seating is available and spaces for indoor seating at the bakery next door.

For National Bike Month, the City of Orlando held a special Bike to Work Day on May 3rd 2013 hosted by Mayor Dyer, to encourage people to use their bikes for work or outdoor pursuits for a more sustainable and Eco-friendly community.

History Center Exhibition of Universal Orlando Backstage.

Epcots Annual International Flower Festival, Begins in March 2013.

The beginning of March sees the welcoming back of the International Flower Festival at Epcot Walt Disney World Florida.

Each year visitors flock to see the amazing array of colour in the gardens and view the creative and imaginary topiaries throughout the park, advice from gardening experts will be on hand, there will be seminars and help on how to create your own spectacular garden. Special menus will be created by the chefs in many of the restaurants. And at the weekends through till May 2013 ‘The flower Power Concert Series’ will be held at the America gardens Theatre.

The festival begins March 6th through to May 19th 2013.

ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex WDW Football Academy with Drew Brees.

At Disney’s Sports complex this summer as part of the Youth programme Drew Brees the NFL Quarterback will be holding a Football Academy and Tournament June 27th to 30th 2013. It is open to all skill levels but is expected to be intensive and competitive, an opportunity to learn from the experts.

 

Also proceeds from the tournament will help towards the Brees Dream Foundation which was established by Brittany and Drew Brees in 2003 to help cancer patients , and care for families in need.

Universal Orlando to Host a ‘Days of Our Lives’ Meet and Greet.

‘Days of Our Lives’ the daytime soap opera broadcast on NBC are having a special ‘day out’ at Universal Orlando on February 23^rd 2013. Stars from the series will be out and about, meeting and greeting their fans throughout the park and also visiting Universal Citywalk.

CityWalk is holding autograph signing from 9.30-11.30am and 12.00-2.00pm.

Inside Universal Studios at the Animal Actors Theatre a question and answer session will be held at 3.45pm. Theme park admission needed.

 

Super Bowl Celebratory Parade at Walt Disney World Florida 2013.

Mickey Mouse and Joe Flacco the MVP of this years Super Bowl were in a special parade to celebrate the Baltimore Ravens win over the San Francisco 49ers.

Members of Joe Flacco’s family accompanied him amidst balloons, confetti  and cheers from football fans and park guests as they paraded down Main Street USA of the Magic Kingdom.

Heart Health Awareness at Downtown Kissimmee’s 5K, February 2013.

When better to have the Kissimmee 5K which is promoting heart health,  than near Valentines Day? A portion of the proceeds will be going to the American Heart Association. This annual event will be taking place on February 16^th 2013 starting and finishing at Toho Square in Downtown Kissimmee.

Watch the ‘Super Bowl’ at ‘Clean the World Super Bowling Party Charity Event.’ Downtown Disney.

For a different way to spend Super bowl Sunday February 3rd 2013, there is a charity event for grown ups taking place at Splitsville Downtown Disney where there are lots of TV screens in the three bars and outside seating areas to watch the game.  Admission to the party is $75 per person over 21. Part of the proceeds are going to the Clean the World foundation which is based in Orlando.

Legoland Florida has Star Wars Model Display Now.

Legoland Florida have a new expansion to Miniland USA, featuring Star Wars models from the six action Star Wars movies, created out of 1.5 million Lego bricks and built in 1:20 scale. They are bought to life by animation, lighting and sound effects.

On May 4th and 5^th 2013 they are holding special Lego Star Wars Days with a Yoda scavenger hunt and Lego building.

Dolphin Rescue and Conservation at SeaWorld Orlando.

There is more to SeaWorld Orlando than just a theme park, conservation is taken very seriously here, rescue and care for many species of marine life is a regular event.

One recent touching story is of a baby dolphin spotted by a family who saw the dolphin in difficulties, they alerted the authorities, and SeaWorld moved into action. Six months later the family have been re-united with the Dolphin on a visit to SeaWorld.

At the new ‘Be our Guest’ Restaurant which is due to open at Walt Disney World Florida in November 2012, alcohol will be served for the first time in the Magic Kingdom. The other Disney parks have been serving adult beverages in their restaurants for some time.
