Sports Facility ESPN at WDW Orlando.

At Walt Disney World Resort there is a magnificent sports facility called the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Here events are attended by athletes of many different sports, ages and abilities.

ESPN is also the home for the spring training of Baseball's Atlanta Braves

Mickey Mouse Shaped Pumpkins at Epcot.

Epcot at Walt Disney World Florida, has a pavilion where Mickey Mouse shaped pumpkins grow, it is an area where guests can visit laboratories of living horticultural accomplishments. The sit down tour cruises through 'Living with the Land' and takes you into greenhouses growing fruits and vegetables and other agricultural exhibits including pumpkins grown in the shape of Mickey!

There are also two restaurants to sample the produce grown in the greenhouses, Sunshine Seasons for casual quick meals and The Garden Grill, which is a rotating restaurant where you can view 'Living with the Land' as you eat your sit down meal.

Old Town Kissimmee Improvements Underway.

If you are planning a visit to Old Town Kissimmee, are you aware that there is a refurbishment taking place ? (August 2014)

Shops, bars and restaurants are still open, along with attractions such as 'Rootin Tootin Shooting Gallery', 'Laser Tag', 'The Haunt' and the Go Carts but the bigger rides are closed, making way for new improvements.

This atmospheric and fun area on Highway 192, is very close to Walt Disney World and the Universal Resort, worth visiting especially if staying in holiday accommodation close by.

The Shuttle Atlantis, One Year On at its Home at Kennedy Space Centre.

The Kennedy Space Centre is about an hours drive from the Theme Parks in Orlando and well worth a trip when on vacation in the Orlando area, 

A year ago the space Shuttle Atlantis was housed in an exhibition at the Center and in that year has attracted many visitors from all over the world. There are two Fun Spot amusement parks in the Orlando area. 'Fun Spot America', near to the Universal Resort Orlando, which offers go kart rides, roller coasters, a Ferris wheel, bumper cars, bumper boats an arcade and more. 

And one in Kissimmee called 'Fun Spot USA' near to the Walt Disney World Resort, again with go kart tracks and thrill rides. To be found next to Old Town Kissimmee, a great attraction in itself.

Their are great reviews on TripAdvisor and it is pointed out that older children and adults will have great fun at this venue.

Being a Starbucks fan I'm pleased to share the news that a new Starbucks Cafe has opened in Downtown Disney at Walt Disney World Florida.

The design of the Cafe has sustainability in mind, LED lighting, furniture made from salvaged trees reclaimed oak and maple, and a roof of green plants.

A very accommodating, pleasant sitting area, with custom artwork decorating the walls and interactive video screen connecting the store with customers at the Disneyland Anaheim Starbucks!

Universal Resort Orlando's Retro Hotel Resort.

Recently a new on-site hotel has been opened at the Universal Resort Orlando, The Cabana Bay Beach Resort.

The theme of the hotel complex is of beach resorts in the 1950's and 60's era.

It offers moderate priced accommodation with quality rooms and suites with kitchenettes that are great for families.

There are plenty of pleasure activities, including pools, restaurants, a games room, fitness studio and it's very own indoor bowling alley.

At the Magic Kingdom, the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train had Dedication Ceremony May 2nd 2014.

The New Fantasyland at Walt Disney World is very much in the news at the moment, as the new ride the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is almost complete and today a dedication ceremony has been held which I watched on a live stream from the 'Disney Parks Blog'. Here an announcement was made that the ride will be opening on May 28th 2014.

The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train has been designed as a family ride so that all can enjoy the happy and thrilling experience captured from this classic children's story.

Happy Birthday, Disney's Hollywood Studios, WDW, Resort Orlando.

Celebrations will be taking place at Disney's Hollywood Studios on May1st 2014, as on this day 25 years ago this park was opened! 

Originally Disney-MGM Studios the name was changed to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2008.

A few events have been organised including a ceremony to honour cast members from the past 25years, Stars of the park will appear on a special motorcade that will pass through the streets, there will be a party with music, dancing and fireworks.

Also merchandise to commemorate the 25th anniversary will be available.

Earth Day Events for 2014 at the Theme Parks in Orlando Florida.

Disney's Animal Kingdom will be holding special activities for Earth Day  with nature, wildlife and conservation themes. 

At Epcot's 'The Seas with Nemo & Friends', families can find out about conservation efforts in protecting sea life and the work of the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund.

At the Universal Studios Florida a week long celebration for Earth Day begins on Tuesday, April 22 at 1.00 pm called the 'Earth Week Recharge Experience'.

Epcot's Easter Break, Egg Hunt.

If you are lucky enough to be going on vacation to Walt Disney World Orlando for an Easter break, make sure you take the kids to Epcot and take part in the Easter egg hunt which is running from April 10th to April 20th 2014.
