If you're heading to Downtown Disney March 7th to March 17th 2014. Celebrations for St Patricks day will be hard to ignore, the Irish Pub Raglan Road provides an Irish welcome to all, with live entertainment, family shows, music, dancing and a celebration to Irish culture. The excitement will spill out to the rest of Downtown Disney with shops, bars and restaurants following the Irish theme.

The Downtown Disney Area is going through a construction expansion through to 2016. Parking may take more time than normal on busy days, it is recommended that you go early for booked reservations etc.

Orlando Eye. International Drive, Orlando, Florida.

Orlando Florida will soon have it's own Orlando Eye, a huge Ferris wheel in a complex of new attractions, shops, restaurants and entertainment. 

Construction is underway and is scheduled to open Winter 2014 but with some of the attractions opening through the summer.

The location for the complex is on International Drive, the Orlando Eye will stand 425 feet tall and visitors will have the chance to ride in one of the 30 gondolas for a ride of approximate 20 minutes and experience an amazing view.

Family Time Out at Green Meadows Petting Farm, Kissimmee Florida.

Lake Eola Park Downtown Orlando, for Food and Wine Festival February 2014

A two day Food and Wine Festival is set to take place at Lake Eola Park Orlando on Saturday February 22nd and Sunday February 23rd 2014. This annual event is an opportunity to taste and compare different wines from all over the world and sample local dishes and refreshments.

There will also be live entertainment and part of the proceeds from the festival will go to charity.

Advance tickets are available on line or there is admission at the door.

It's time for Mardi-Gras at Universal Orlando!

Starting today Saturday 8th February 2014 and on selected weekends through till May 31st 2014.

This event captures the spirit and mood of a New Orleans street party.

With colour, music, dancing, street performers, lavish costumes and floats.

The parade begins at the Hollywood area in the Universal Studios and finishes in the New York area.

There are live concerts included in the celebration with big name acts who will be performing at the Universal Music Plaza stage.

Food Truck Bazaar in Kissimmee and Orlando February 2014.

The Food Truck Bazaar will be in Kissimmee on Friday February 7th at 6pm-9pm. At the Kissimmee Civic Center, 201 E. Dakin Ave. This a host of food trucks with varied cuisine offering a wide range of

If you are visiting Kissimmee for the first time, the Osceola County website can give you an insight into the area. 

When researching I came across a section called Visiting Kissimmee, and found some videos of the fun and thrill rides at Old Town, along with other activities such as SeaWorld shows, Balloon rides, a visit to Discovery Cove and more.

When researching the Walt Disney Company benevolent approach I was moved as to how much Disney gives back to the world. 

There are many projects worldwide whether it be supporting conservation and wildlife, providing relief in conservation emergencies. aiding families in communities all around the world, donating to children's hospitals, supporting education establishments to promote creative, imaginary and physical projects, encouraging people to volunteer, getting people together in community local projects to help the environment, such as planting trees, (I myself am proud to say that I took part in a tree planting event).  The list seems endless of what Disney fund, promote and encourage. Their ethics and morals are to be commended.

Orlando Celebrates the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

To commerorate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Orlando will be holding its 30th Annual Parade on Saturday 18th January 2014 at 10.00 am. In Downtown Orlando. 

It is a free event for the community to come together and unite. The parade is presented by Southwest Orlando Jaycees. 

Later at the Lake Eola Amphitheater there will be a Musical showcase of local community residents and churches performing to celebrate in honour of  Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The event is called  “The SOUND!” and begins at 1.00pm

From personal experience we found renting a house near Kissimmee close to the theme parks was a great solution for all our family's needs. 

The independence, space and luxury, adds to the vacation experience.

There are plenty of supermarkets close by to accommodate all your self catering needs. All home comforts have been thought off, with added luxury in most cases. fully equipped kitchens, washing machine and drier, bathroom and bed linen, TV, and quite often a small pool. 

We hired a car, which is recommended if staying off sight away from the theme parks own transport options.

There are many Vacation homes to choose from, for added security some can be rented that are in a gated community with added community perks such as swimming pool, gym etc.
